Meet Sayuri, your wedding photographer in Umbria

“One of the nicest compliments we received from our guests was about her: Sayuri blended in perfectly, with incredible naturalness and spontaneity. She captured emotions, glances, and authentic moments without ever being intrusive, making us feel completely at ease.”
Asha & Yari
I was born in Switzerland, moved to Florida when I was four, and stayed until I graduated from USF. Then I moved back to Switzerland, fell in love at a beer festival in Belgium, and a year later moved to Italy. I’ve been here ever since.
I took my first photography course in 2017, the year I moved. I started with whoever would let me photograph them: couples, expecting mamas, newborns. Then I had two little boys of my own, and I learned the importance of photography even more.
Slowly, I shifted toward weddings. Growing up between places taught me how to read a room, pick up on people’s energy, and find a connection with people I’ve only just met.
I love getting to know people beyond those first introductions. The unexpected sense of humor, the family stories, the friends who can make them laugh with a single look. That’s what keeps me coming back to weddings.
I’m drawn to emotion, movement, and beautiful light. I love a thoughtful composition, but some of my favorite photos are the ones that aren't planned: the stoic dad crying, a kid falling asleep on the dance floor, the unexpected dance off.
.
I bring a lot of energy, I laugh a lot, and I usually end up feeling like part of the family by the end of the day. But I also know when to quiet down, step back, and just let things happen.

What it's like to work with me
You’ve brought your favorite people to Italy......
Enjoy them! I’ll take care of the photos.
An American in Italy
I grew up in Florida and built my life here in Italy. I speak both languages and understand the cultural differences, so you have someone who feels familiar while knowing her way around the place you’ve chosen.
A little direction, plenty of freedom
You don’t need to know how to pose. I’ll give you easy prompts, like a walk, a spin, or a slow dance, so you always have something to do and never wonder what to do with your hands.
An eye for the whole story
The setting, the table you spent months planning, your friends getting a little louder as the evening goes on. I notice how everything looks, but also what’s happening between people. Both belong in your photographs
More time with your people
No long portrait block. I’ll steal you for a few quick sessions throughout the day, then bring you right back to your guests.
Let’s talk.
If this sounds like what you want in a wedding photographer, reach out!
I’d love to know your date, your venue, and what you have in mind.
