Intimate Destination Wedding in Castellina in Chianti, Tuscany

beautiful couple with 19 of their closest friends and family celebrating their wedding in tuscany

Tuscany, Italy

August 5th in Castellina in Chianti gave us one of those golden summer days that actually lives up to the hype. We were at this cozy Tuscan farmhouse surrounded by vineyards with only nineteen of the sweetest people. It was small, intentional, and felt completely genuine.

The ceremony was held in a tiny stone church right on the property. It was one of those heartfelt moments full of real tears and laughter. Because the group was so small, the intimacy in that room was something you could actually feel.

Scavenger Hunts and Golden Hour

While we snuck away for portraits in that perfect, glowy hillside light, Beate and Leo didn't just leave their guests standing around with a glass of prosecco. They sent them on a full-blown scavenger hunt. Seeing everyone running around the estate solving clues was such a vibe. It was the perfect way to break the ice and get everyone hyped for dinner.

The Magic of a Self-Catered Dinner

The reception was held at one long table outdoors, and this is where it got really special. There was no big catering team. Instead, the meal was lovingly prepared by the guests themselves.

Since Beate is an interior decorator, she handled the table styling, and it was stunning. She used calla lilies and candles to turn a simple farmhouse garden into something that looked like a dream. It was so cool to watch the community come together to bring the evening to life. Seeing friends and family setting out dishes and lighting candles made the whole night feel so much more personal.

Fireworks and First Dances

For the first dance, they stayed out under the stars, and right as they started to sway, fireworks lit up the sky. It was just the right amount of sparkle to end a day that already felt pretty unforgettable.

Castellina in Chianti provided the backdrop, but Beate and Leo’s creativity made it what it was. It was proof that when you have a clear vision and great people, you don't need a massive production to create something beautiful.
