Sunrise at Spiaggia Urbani: A Portrait Session in Sirolo, Italy

Portrait of a woman in soft morning light at Spiaggia Urbani beach, Sirolo, Italy

60020 Sirolo, Province of Ancona, Italy

There’s a certain kind of quiet that only exists in blue hour, before the world fully wakes up. Spiaggia Urbani in April feels exactly like that.

The beach is currently in between seasons. Spring has arrived, but just barely. The iconic orange umbrellas of the Conero haven’t been set up yet; nothing feels structured, curated, or crowded.  .

As a Sirolo wedding photographer, I’m always searching for moments where the location and my subjects vibe align. This morning was exactly that.

Drone shots galore

We arrived just before sunrise, without a fixed plan. The goal was simple, combine the natural elements with the human aspect, and I thought the drone would be a perfect vessel to convey it. I knew there was a cave right next to the beach that could frame Virna beautifully, and when I saw the boardwalk that led out to the cluster of rocks I immediately invisioned the shot directly above. The best part of this shoot was the fact we were just having fun, being creative, and every 5 secs squealing... omg how beauitful is this??

Why Spiaggia Urbani?

What makes Spiaggia Urbani special isn’t just the dramatic backdrop of Monte Conero; it’s how it feels at dawn. The cliffs sit close behind you, holding the light in a soft, diffused way. Nothing is harsh. Everything feels grounded.

Without the usual summer setup, there’s a sense of freedom. You move without interruption, without being watched, and without the need to "perform" for the camera.

The Pre-Wedding Perspective

While capturing these solo portraits, it was impossible not to imagine this space for a couple's session.

Early mornings in Sirolo create an intimacy that’s difficult to find once the sun is high. You’re slightly tired, not fully "in your head" yet. There’s less pressure to get things right. You walk, you laugh, you adjust to the cold water together.

For a destination engagement or a pre-wedding session in Italy, this kind of environment is a gift. You can just let go and have fun together while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Why Sunrise Matters

Choosing a sunrise session isn't just about the "Golden Hour" glow. It changes the pace of the entire experience. There are fewer distractions, fewer expectations, and more space to simply be present.

It requires an early start, and in the moment, it always feels like a big ask. But then the light breaks over the Adriatic, the beach stays quiet, you just look around and think, "100% worth it!"
